Status:Closed
Opening date: 29 October 2024
Closing date: 15 December 2024
Context
IMI is committed to strengthening the site's position in Research and Training in the fields of Mechanics, Acoustics, Energetics and Process Engineering. In this context, this call for proposals aims to support capital expenditure on one or more scientific facilities, together with operating costs. This equipment must enable the implementation and execution of research work within the framework of innovative and collaborative projects, with priority given to one of the 5 societal challenges defined in the 2024-2027 roadmap:
1/ Engineering for health (biomechanics, pharmaceutical processes, diagnostics, etc.)
2/ Energy transition (wind, nuclear, biomass, energy efficiency, etc.)
3/ Transport and sustainable mobility (aeronautics, automotive, rail, space, etc.)
4/ Natural and living environments (fire, geophysics, granular, water treatment, plant biomechanics, biomimicry, etc.)
5/ Urban environments and sustainable cities (buildings (thermal, acoustic, aerodynamics, etc.), pollutants, etc.)
The maximum grant is 25 euros (excl. VAT) per project. In view of budgetary constraints, the budget allocated from January 2025 must be liquidated by the end of October 2025 at the latest.
Eligibility criteria
Projects will be assessed on their added value to the Institute's policy in all scientific areas. Priority will be given to collaborative projects involving two laboratories, and/or participating in the development of one of the platforms, and/or implementing multi-disciplinary approaches, and/or addressing one of the 5 societal challenges. The realistic nature of the project, as well as the expected spin-offs in terms of results and future external academic and/or industrial collaborations, will also be taken into account.
Research team
Projects must indicate the name of a project leader with whom the Institute's management will correspond. The entire team must be presented. The complementary nature of the team must be detailed. The role of non-permanent staff involved in the project (interns, PhD students, post docs) must also be specified.
Eligible expenses
The purpose of this call for proposals is to finance the operating and capital expenditure required to carry out the proposed scientific project. All expenses must be detailed, and in particular those relating to missions (from and/or to the Institute) and internship gratification expenses. A quotation (or list price) must be provided for equipment purchases (any item costing more than 800 euros excluding VAT, unit value). When estimating the financial cost of the project, it is possible to include additional external funding. In this case, you need to specify the amount and whether it has already been obtained, requested or is to be requested. This call for projects will not finance human resources (PhD students or post-docs, for example) or IT resources dedicated to office automation (tablets, laptops, etc.) in agreement with AMIDEX.
Project submission
The project must be submitted using the attached form and must be sent by December 15, 2024 at the latest by e-mail to Cédric Fages: cedric.fages@univ-amu.fr.
The submission form must include details of the scientific project (state of the art, research program, expected spin-offs, etc.), the nature of the equipment, the team members and details of the planned expenditure.
The projects will be examined by the Institute's Scientific Advisory Board, and the results will be announced at the end of January 2025.
For accepted projects, a brief progress report will be requested at the end of the project (this will contribute in particular to Amidex's evaluation of the Institute).
