The IMI’s laboratories house a number of technology platforms.
The IMI’s laboratories house a number of technology platforms.
The IMI offers access to a network of research platforms that it is working to develop. We provide students, researchers and partners with facilities, skills, tools and services via 11 platforms, 6 of which have the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label:
Platform activities are focused on the environment and clean processes. The areas developed within the Process engineering platform are:
Platform expert: Jean-Henry Ferrasse
Location: Arbois technology park and Faculty of St. Jérôme
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
The CFD software platform offers digital simulation capacities for multi-physics fluid flows using the Lattice-Boltzmann (LBM) method developed at the M2P2 laboratory in partnership with a public/private consortium. The platform can be used to carry out high-performance simulations in a number of fluid mechanics fields: aerodynamics (incompressible and compressible), heat transfers, fluid-structure interaction, combustion.
Platform manager: Jérôme Jacob
Location: Château Gombert technology park
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
Created in 2011, the Fire platform meets the needs of the fire community: academics and technical, industrial, institutional, operational and other centres.
Aims:
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
The Experimental Mechanics Platform (MECAEXP) provides expertise that has international recognition in the field of heterogeneous structures and materials, the behaviour of polymers, composite materials and interfaces.
Fields of application:
Manager: Laurent Sabatier
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
The platform is able to provide services and facilities to design, size, manufacture and test laminated composite material structures or 3D printed structures with thermosetting and thermoplastic resins at high pressures and temperatures (450°C et 20 bars).
Managers: Noël Lahellec and Aurélien Maurel-Pantel
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
This platform aims to work closely with research teams in their experimental projects, offering them the use of rooms dedicated to the controlled measurement of sound sources and the emission of controlled sound fields to characterise the behaviour of sound and vibration sources.
Managers: Cédric Pinhède and Renaud Côte
Platform with the Aix-Marseille Technology Platform label
This platform enables the analysis and characterisation of structures using X-ray imaging.
Fields of application:
Manager: Laurent Sabatier
Location: LMA, Central Med technology park
