Context:
The " Institute for Mechanical Engineering" of Aix-Marseille University is launching its Human Resources 2025 Call, which will fund 2 post-doctoral research projects lasting up to 24 months (12 months renewable once). Each post-doc will benefit from an additional support budget of 5 keuros/year (for symposium participation, international collaboration missions, small equipment, etc.).
The call is organized in a single round, with the project and the candidate being evaluated together.
Call conditions:
Proposals will have to address scientific issues that fall primarily within one of the 5 societal challenges defined in the 2024-2027 Institute's roadmap:
- Engineering for health (biomechanics, pharmaceutical processes, diagnostics, etc.)
- Energy transition (wind, nuclear, biomass, energy efficiency, etc.)
- Transport and sustainable mobility (aeronautics, automotive, rail, space)
- Natural and living environments (fire, geophysics, granular, water treatment, plant biomechanics, biomimetics, etc.)
- Urban environments and sustainable cities (buildings (thermal, acoustic, aerodynamic, etc.), pollutants, etc.)
- With the aim of providing the most relevant responses possible to a major scientific challenge and strengthening the dynamic of the site, proposals will involve teams from at least two of the Institute's laboratories.
- The post-docs recruited are expected to take part in training activities and/or seminars, and/or anyother events aimed at disseminating scientific culture.
- Applications from AMU graduates are not accepted.
- Projects supervised by PI (and/or co-PI) who have been awarded in the last two calls (2023 or 2024) will not be given priority.
Evaluation:
The scientific committee of the institute will be in charge of evaluating the proposals on the basis of the quality of the applicants and on the ability to the projects to demonstrate the added value provided by this call, such as the use of complementary methodologies and/or skills in the responses provided, the innovative nature and risk-taking, associated training activities, etc.
